Name: Andrea Scott
Business Name: Sew Happy Quilting
What do you make / sell?
small handmade fabric creations
How long have you been doing what you are doing? And why/how did you start?

I’ve been quilting since 1992. I learned how to quilt in high school and have been creating ever since. I opened my Etsy shop in 2017 so I could start selling my handmade items.
Favorite item you offer and why?
Pocket hugs are my favorite item to sell followed closely by corner bookmarks. The reason I love the pocket hugs is because they have an extra special sentimental and thoughtful vibe. The tiny quilted pocket trinket is super cute but they are thoughtful because of the poem card each buyer gets to choose to accompany the fabric hug. I have always loved giving meaningful gifts so I am so excited to have created something that so many are loving to give to loved ones.
Biggest challenge of owning your own business

Bookkeeping. It’s funny, my dad, husband and oldest son are amazing with numbers and I just didn’t get that gene. I know how important it is to keep a close eye on my bottom line and I force myself to do it but I secretly spend every moment wishing I was sitting at my sewing machine.
Favorite time of year
Summer
Favorite Beverage (can be alcoholic or non)
mojito – ahhh refreshing!
Favorite way to spend “free time”
I love being lakeside or with my feet in the sand. Water relaxes me and it’s something my entire family enjoys and cherishes.
Pets? If so please list (this question is from my business partner Vita, the tuxedo cat)
I have an English cream golden retriever named Jordy. He’s my sidekick and a big Momma’s boy.
Book or TV show you are hooked on right now? (or both)
Yellowstone is my current favorite tv show and I love any book by Elin Hilderbrand
Favorite Color
Aqua
Socials: Where can we find you?
You can find me on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest at: sewhappyquiltingvt and on TikTok at sewhappyquilting
If you could nominate a fellow entrepreneur / maker to be featured, who would it be and where can I find them?
I would like to nominate Kristy who owns the shop: Rock Baby Scissors. She can be found on Instagram at rockbabyscissors. She does amazing things with bright and beautiful fabric. I own a couple of her bags and they make me smile each time I use them.
